Brian J. Higgins is Co-Founder, Managing Partner, and Co-Portfolio Manager of King Street.  Mr. Higgins is Chair of the Management Committee, Global Investment Committee and Real Estate Investment Committee, and a member of the Risk Committee.  Prior to co-founding King Street in 1995, Mr. Higgins worked at First Boston in the Special Situations Fund and the Distressed Securities Group.  Mr. Higgins began his career in 1987 with First Boston’s Merchant Banking Group.  Mr. Higgins received a B.S. in Business Administration from Villanova University in 1987.

Justin Gmelich is a Partner and the Global Head of Markets. Mr. Gmelich is a member of the Management Committee, Global Investment Committee, U.S. Investment Committee, Real Estate Investment Committee and Risk Committee. Mr. Gmelich is responsible for leading our Capital Markets, Trading, Risk and Data Science / Technology initiatives. Prior to joining King Street in 2020, Mr. Gmelich was the Global Chief Operating Officer for Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities (FICC) at Goldman Sachs, after previously serving as their Global Head of Credit. Earlier in his career, Mr. Gmelich worked as an Associate Trader for Chase and was a Vice President at Salomon Brothers. Mr. Gmelich received a B.S. in Finance from Villanova University, an M.S. in Accounting/Taxation from the University of Southern California and an M.B.A. in Finance from Columbia University.

Paul Goldschmid is a Partner and Co-Portfolio Manager.  Mr. Goldschmid oversees Research in the U.S. and is a member of the Management Committee, Global Investment Committee, Risk Committee and Conflicts Committee.  Mr. Goldschmid has been a Partner since 2012.  Prior to joining King Street in 2006, Mr. Goldschmid was an Analyst at Compass Partners International, a boutique merchant banking firm, focusing on principal investments and cross-border mergers and acquisitions.  Mr. Goldschmid received a J.D. and M.B.A. from Columbia University in 2006 and a B.A. from Harvard University in 2000.

David Walch is a Partner and Co-Portfolio Manager.  Mr. Walch, based in our London office, oversees Research in Europe and is a member of the Management Committee, Global Investment Committee, European Investment Committee, Real Estate Investment Committee and Risk Committee.  Mr. Walch has been a Partner since 2018.  Prior to joining King Street in 2012, Mr. Walch was a Managing Director at Perry Capital where he worked on structured credit and real estate investments.  Prior to that, Mr. Walch was an Associate in Morgan Stanley’s real estate group.  Mr. Walch received a M.B.A. from Harvard Business School in 2002 and a B.A. from Yale University in 1995.

Bruce S. Darringer is a Partner and the Chief Operating Officer.  Mr. Darringer is a member of the Management Committee, Risk Committee and Conflicts Committee.  He has been a Partner since 2007.  Prior to joining King Street in 2003, Mr. Darringer worked for Goldman Sachs as a Vice President in the Investment Banking Division.  Previously, Mr. Darringer co-founded Integrity Capital Management, L.L.C., a global relative value hedge fund, as Principal, Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel.  Mr. Darringer began his career as a corporate attorney for Cravath, Swaine & Moore.  Mr. Darringer received a J.D. magna cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1994 and a dual B.S. in Economics summa cum laude from the Wharton School and B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1991.

Michael Abbate is a Partner and a Senior Trader.  Mr. Abbate is a member of the U.S. Investment Committee and Risk Committee and has been a Partner since 2012.  Currently based in New York, Mr. Abbate was in our London office from late 2006 to early 2009.  Prior to joining King Street in 2004, Mr. Abbate worked for Morgan Stanley, in both the Global Technology Group focusing on mergers, acquisitions and corporate financings, and in the Derivative Products Group focusing on structuring interest rate, foreign exchange and credit derivative products.  Mr. Abbate received a B.A. in Computer Engineering with a minor in Economics from Dartmouth College in 2001.

Young Choi is a Partner, Senior Trader and the Portfolio Manager of Rockford Tower Capital Management.  Mr. Choi is a member of the U.S. Investment Committee and has been a Partner since 2018.  Mr. Choi is responsible for the performing loan and high yield portfolio and secondary CLO portfolio.  Prior to joining King Street in 2006, Mr. Choi worked at Citadel Investment Group, as a Credit Analyst in the Distressed/High Yield Group and Portfolio Manager of the firm’s $2 billion U.S. leveraged loan portfolio and CLO.  Prior to that, Mr. Choi consulted at Bain & Co.  Mr. Choi received a B.S.E. in Electrical Engineering and an A.B. summa cum laude in Economics from Duke University in 1999.

Vincent Dubois-Pelerin is a Partner responsible for Investor Relations.  Currently based in New York, Mr. Dubois-Pelerin was in our London office from 2008 to 2019, and has been a Partner since 2016.  Prior to joining King Street in 2008, Mr. Dubois-Pelerin worked at Lehman Brothers, most recently as a Managing Director in charge of EMEA Credit Products distribution.  Prior to that, Mr. Dubois-Pelerin was responsible for Lehman Brothers Fixed Income activities in France and head of Fixed Income distribution to the Benelux.  Mr. Dubois-Pelerin started his career as an international bond dealer at Dewaay, Servais & Co.  Mr. Dubois-Pelerin received a B.A. in Economics from the University of Louvain-la-Neuve in Belgium in 1990.

Andrew Lago is a Partner and Senior Trader.  Based in our London office, Mr. Lago is a member of the European Investment Committee and Risk Committee and has been a Partner since 2012.  Prior to joining King Street in 2007, Mr. Lago was a market maker on the credit trading desk at Merrill Lynch focusing on industrial credits.  Mr. Lago received a B.A. in Economics from Duke University in 1994.  He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Jay Ryan is a Partner and the Chief Financial Officer.  Mr. Ryan is a member of the Risk Committee and Conflicts Committee and has been a Partner since 2012.  Prior to joining King Street in 2006, Mr. Ryan was the Chief Financial Officer of Cantor Fitzgerald and its publicly traded subsidiary, eSpeed.  Previously, Mr. Ryan worked for Goldman Sachs as a Product Controller responsible for the firm’s trading divisions.  Mr. Ryan began his career as an auditor with Arthur Andersen covering a variety of industries including banking and manufacturing.  Mr. Ryan received an M.B.A. in Finance from New York University in 1988 and a B.S.B.A. in Accounting summa cum laude from Bryant University in 1984.  He is a Certified Public Accountant.

Randy Stuzin is a Partner and the General Counsel.  Mr. Stuzin is a member of the Conflicts Committee and has been a Partner since 2020.  Prior to joining King Street in 2014, Mr. Stuzin was General Counsel of the Investment Banking Division of Goldman Sachs.  Prior to that, Mr. Stuzin was a Vice President and Associate General Counsel at Lehman Brothers.  Mr. Stuzin began his career as a Corporate Associate at Cravath, Swaine & Moore and McDermott, Will & Emery.  Mr. Stuzin received a J.D. from New York University School of Law in 1991 and a B.S. in Economics from Cornell University in 1988.  Mr. Stuzin is a member of the Bar of New Jersey and the Bar of New York.
