Brian J. Higgins is Co-Founder, Managing Partner, and Co-Portfolio Manager of King Street.  Mr. Higgins is Chair of the Management Committee, Global Investment Committee and Real Estate Investment Committee, and a member of the Risk Committee.  Prior to co-founding King Street in 1995, Mr. Higgins worked at First Boston in the Special Situations Fund and the Distressed Securities Group.  Mr. Higgins began his career in 1987 with First Boston’s Merchant Banking Group.  Mr. Higgins received a B.S. in Business Administration from Villanova University in 1987.

Justin Gmelich is a Partner and the Global Head of Markets. Mr. Gmelich is a member of the Management Committee, Global Investment Committee, U.S. Investment Committee, Real Estate Investment Committee and Risk Committee. Mr. Gmelich is responsible for leading our Capital Markets, Trading, Risk and Data Science / Technology initiatives. Prior to joining King Street in 2020, Mr. Gmelich was the Global Chief Operating Officer for Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities (FICC) at Goldman Sachs, after previously serving as their Global Head of Credit. Earlier in his career, Mr. Gmelich worked as an Associate Trader for Chase and was a Vice President at Salomon Brothers. Mr. Gmelich received a B.S. in Finance from Villanova University, an M.S. in Accounting/Taxation from the University of Southern California and an M.B.A. in Finance from Columbia University.

Paul Goldschmid is a Partner and Co-Portfolio Manager.  Mr. Goldschmid oversees Research in the U.S. and is a member of the Management Committee, Global Investment Committee, Risk Committee and Conflicts Committee.  Mr. Goldschmid has been a Partner since 2012.  Prior to joining King Street in 2006, Mr. Goldschmid was an Analyst at Compass Partners International, a boutique merchant banking firm, focusing on principal investments and cross-border mergers and acquisitions.  Mr. Goldschmid received a J.D. and M.B.A. from Columbia University in 2006 and a B.A. from Harvard University in 2000.

David Walch is a Partner and Co-Portfolio Manager.  Mr. Walch, based in our London office, oversees Research in Europe and is a member of the Management Committee, Global Investment Committee, European Investment Committee, Real Estate Investment Committee and Risk Committee.  Mr. Walch has been a Partner since 2018.  Prior to joining King Street in 2012, Mr. Walch was a Managing Director at Perry Capital where he worked on structured credit and real estate investments.  Prior to that, Mr. Walch was an Associate in Morgan Stanley’s real estate group.  Mr. Walch received a M.B.A. from Harvard Business School in 2002 and a B.A. from Yale University in 1995.

Bruce S. Darringer is a Partner and the Chief Operating Officer.  Mr. Darringer is a member of the Management Committee, Risk Committee and Conflicts Committee.  He has been a Partner since 2007.  Prior to joining King Street in 2003, Mr. Darringer worked for Goldman Sachs as a Vice President in the Investment Banking Division.  Previously, Mr. Darringer co-founded Integrity Capital Management, L.L.C., a global relative value hedge fund, as Principal, Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel.  Mr. Darringer began his career as a corporate attorney for Cravath, Swaine & Moore.  Mr. Darringer received a J.D. magna cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1994 and a dual B.S. in Economics summa cum laude from the Wharton School and B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1991.

Michael Abbate is a Partner and a Senior Trader.  Mr. Abbate is a member of the U.S. Investment Committee and Risk Committee and has been a Partner since 2012.  Currently based in New York, Mr. Abbate was in our London office from late 2006 to early 2009.  Prior to joining King Street in 2004, Mr. Abbate worked for Morgan Stanley, in both the Global Technology Group focusing on mergers, acquisitions and corporate financings, and in the Derivative Products Group focusing on structuring interest rate, foreign exchange and credit derivative products.  Mr. Abbate received a B.A. in Computer Engineering with a minor in Economics from Dartmouth College in 2001.

Young Choi is a Partner, Senior Trader and the Portfolio Manager of Rockford Tower Capital Management.  Mr. Choi is a member of the U.S. Investment Committee and has been a Partner since 2018.  Mr. Choi is responsible for the performing loan and high yield portfolio and secondary CLO portfolio.  Prior to joining King Street in 2006, Mr. Choi worked at Citadel Investment Group, as a Credit Analyst in the Distressed/High Yield Group and Portfolio Manager of the firm’s $2 billion U.S. leveraged loan portfolio and CLO.  Prior to that, Mr. Choi consulted at Bain & Co.  Mr. Choi received a B.S.E. in Electrical Engineering and an A.B. summa cum laude in Economics from Duke University in 1999.

Vincent Dubois-Pelerin is a Partner responsible for Investor Relations.  Currently based in New York, Mr. Dubois-Pelerin was in our London office from 2008 to 2019, and has been a Partner since 2016.  Prior to joining King Street in 2008, Mr. Dubois-Pelerin worked at Lehman Brothers, most recently as a Managing Director in charge of EMEA Credit Products distribution.  Prior to that, Mr. Dubois-Pelerin was responsible for Lehman Brothers Fixed Income activities in France and head of Fixed Income distribution to the Benelux.  Mr. Dubois-Pelerin started his career as an international bond dealer at Dewaay, Servais & Co.  Mr. Dubois-Pelerin received a B.A. in Economics from the University of Louvain-la-Neuve in Belgium in 1990.

Andrew Lago is a Partner and Senior Trader.  Based in our London office, Mr. Lago is a member of the European Investment Committee and Risk Committee and has been a Partner since 2012.  Prior to joining King Street in 2007, Mr. Lago was a market maker on the credit trading desk at Merrill Lynch focusing on industrial credits.  Mr. Lago received a B.A. in Economics from Duke University in 1994.  He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Jay Ryan is a Partner and the Chief Financial Officer.  Mr. Ryan is a member of the Risk Committee and Conflicts Committee and has been a Partner since 2012.  Prior to joining King Street in 2006, Mr. Ryan was the Chief Financial Officer of Cantor Fitzgerald and its publicly traded subsidiary, eSpeed.  Previously, Mr. Ryan worked for Goldman Sachs as a Product Controller responsible for the firm’s trading divisions.  Mr. Ryan began his career as an auditor with Arthur Andersen covering a variety of industries including banking and manufacturing.  Mr. Ryan received an M.B.A. in Finance from New York University in 1988 and a B.S.B.A. in Accounting summa cum laude from Bryant University in 1984.  He is a Certified Public Accountant.

Randy Stuzin is a Partner and the General Counsel.  Mr. Stuzin is a member of the Conflicts Committee and has been a Partner since 2020.  Prior to joining King Street in 2014, Mr. Stuzin was General Counsel of the Investment Banking Division of Goldman Sachs.  Prior to that, Mr. Stuzin was a Vice President and Associate General Counsel at Lehman Brothers.  Mr. Stuzin began his career as a Corporate Associate at Cravath, Swaine & Moore and McDermott, Will & Emery.  Mr. Stuzin received a J.D. from New York University School of Law in 1991 and a B.S. in Economics from Cornell University in 1988.  Mr. Stuzin is a member of the Bar of New Jersey and the Bar of New York.

Josh Bissu is a Managing Director and a Senior Trader. Mr. Bissu is a member of the U.S. Investment Committee.  Prior to joining King Street in 2007, Mr. Bissu was a Senior Associate at GSC Partners, a credit-based alternative investment manager focused on corporate credit, equity, distressed and real estate investing.  Mr. Bissu received a B.A. Magna Cum Laude in Economics from Duke University and a M.A. in Mathematics of Finance from Columbia University.

Noah Charney is a Managing Director and a Senior Research Analyst.  Mr. Charney is a member of the U.S. Investment Committee.  Prior to joining King Street in 2013, Mr. Charney was an analyst at Trilogy Capital, LLC. Prior to this, he was an analyst at Och-Ziff Capital Management Group and an analyst at Goldentree Asset Management, LP.  Mr. Charney began his career at Bear Stearns & Co. and Credit Suisse First Boston Corporation.  He received a B.A. in Economics from Queen’s University in 1999 and a M.B.A. from Harvard Business School in 2004.

Kent Couling is a Managing Director and a Senior Research Analyst. Mr. Couling is based in our Virginia office and is a member of the Real Estate Investment Committee. Prior to joining King Street in 2007, Mr. Couling was an executive director with Morgan Stanley where he focused on mergers, acquisitions and financings within the healthcare sector. Mr. Couling received a B.S. degree from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia in 1997.

Patrick Dowd is a Managing Director and a Senior Research Analyst.  Mr. Dowd is a member of the U.S. Investment Committee.  Prior to joining King Street in 2008, Mr. Dowd was an Analyst in the Technology, Media and Telecommunications Group at Goldman Sachs.  Mr. Dowd received a B.A. Cum Laude in Economics from Harvard University in 2007.

Rachel Graves is a Managing Director and the Director of Human Resources.  Prior to joining King Street in 2015, Ms. Graves was an Executive Vice President at RBS Citizens Financial Group, heading Human Resources for the Consumer Banking Division, Business Services, Risk and Finance.  Prior to RBS, she was U.S. Director of Human Resources for Jefferies and Company.  Ms. Graves has also held other human resources roles at Banc of America Securities, Credit Suisse First Boston and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette.  Ms. Graves received a B.A. from Franklin & Marshall College in 1994.

Eric M. Jacobs is a Managing Director and the Director of Risk Management and is a member of the Risk Committee.  Prior to joining King Street in 2005, Mr. Jacobs worked for Goldman, Sachs & Co. in Product Controllers, where he was a Vice President covering commodities, equities and credit products.  Mr. Jacobs began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers as an auditor in the New York Financial Services Practice.  Mr. Jacobs received a M.B.A. from New York University in 2001 and a B.B.A. in Accounting and Finance from the University of Michigan in 1994.  He is also a Certified Public Accountant.

Zachary Lewis is a Managing Director and a Senior Research Analyst.  Mr. Lewis is based in our Singapore office and oversees our investment team in Asia.  Prior to joining King Street in 2019, Mr. Lewis was a Managing Principal in Monarch Alternative Capital’s Special Situations/Distressed Debt Research Group and the Co-Head of the London office.  Prior to this, he was a Vice President in Morgan Stanley’s Special Situations/Dressed Debt Group and worked as an Associated in JPMorgan Chase’s Private Equity Group.  Mr. Lewis received a B.S. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania in 2001.

Domenico Lia is a Managing Director and a Senior Research Analyst.  Mr. Lia is based in our London office and is a member of the European Investment Committee.  Prior to joining King Street in 2019, Mr. Lia was a Managing Director on the European Corporate Opportunities Team at Cerberus Capital Management.  Prior to that, Mr. Lia was a Lead Distressed Trader in the European Distressed Trading and Investing Group at Goldman Sachs.  Mr. Lia received a B.S. in Financial Markets and Institutions summa cum laude from Bocconi University in 2003.

Rich Marano is a Managing Director and Chief Compliance Officer & Counsel.  Mr. Marano is a member of the Risk Committee and Conflicts Committee.  Prior to joining King Street in 2005, Mr. Marano worked for Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP as an investment management attorney.  Mr. Marano began his career as an attorney for LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae LLP where he specialized in investment management.  Mr. Marano received a J.D. from Rutgers School of Law – Newark in 2001 and a B.A. in History and Law and Society from Ramapo College of New Jersey in 1996.  Mr. Marano is a member of the Bar of New Jersey and the Bar of New York.

Deepak Natarajan is a Managing Director, Co-Portfolio Manager of Rockford Tower Capital Management Europe and Senior Trader.  Mr. Natarajan is based in our London office and is a member of the European Investment Committee.  He is responsible for the performing loan and high yield portfolio, as well as overseeing stressed and distressed credit investments in Europe.  Prior to joining King Street in 2009, Mr. Natarajan was a Vice President at HSBC in the Leveraged & Acquisition Finance Group, holding a variety of roles in leveraged finance origination, high yield capital markets, and leveraged credit research.  Mr. Natarajan received a B.S. in Economics from the University of Nottingham in 2003.

John Vivenzio is a Managing Director and the Chief Technology Officer and is a member of the Risk Committee.  Prior to joining King Street in 2009, Mr. Vivenzio was Director of Back Office Technology for SAC Capital Advisors, where he managed development initiatives for the middle office, fund accounting and financial accounting business units.  Prior to that, Mr. Vivenzio was a Managing Director at Bank of America in the Prime Brokerage group responsible for client facing technology and trading systems for the bank’s global hedge fund customers.  Mr. Vivenzio received a B.S. in Economics from The Pennsylvania State University in 1993.    

Michael Wengrofsky is a Managing Director and the Director of Taxation.  Prior to joining King Street in 2005, Mr. Wengrofsky was a Senior Tax Manager with Deloitte & Touche, and he previously held tax professional positions with PricewaterhouseCoopers and KPMG Peat Marwick.  Mr. Wengrofsky received a J.D. from Boston University School of Law in 1988 and a B.B.A. in Accounting from Baruch College, City University of New York in 1985.  Mr. Wengrofsky is a member of the Bar of New York.
